Fleetway Super Sonic is one of the most popular characters in Sonic the Comic, spawning plenty of fan projects like the 2011 animation of the story arc, Running Wild, a few shorts in the Sonic Shorts series, and even becoming the true identity of Iblis in Sonic the Comic Online. Like many other iterations of Super Sonic, Fleetway Super Sonic became a major character in Sonic the Comic, both as an out-of-control transformation of Sonic that evolves from a mindless beast to a fully sentient being, and as a separate entity that suffers from amnesia and becomes a good guy up until the end of the series. Unlike in other media, where Super Sonic is merely a transformation of Sonic, Fleetway Super Sonic has no sense of morals and is a rampaging monster like the Incredible Hulk. does to Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Blaze, Silver, etc. In Sonic the Comic, or STC for short, Super Sonic is activated when Sonic is under extreme stress or is enduring the overload of Chaos Energy, similar to how the Chaos Emeralds, Super Emeralds, Master Emerald, etc. Fleetway Super Sonic is the version of Super Sonic from the British Sonic comic series, Sonic the Comic.
